Join our 2026 Meet the Animals series to get up close with the furry, feathered, and four-legged residents of our farm! We'll get up close and personal to observe and learn lots about our animal buddies, from their unique behaviors and other fun facts! Get ready for a hands-on animal adventure that will deepen your connection to the creatures we share our world with.

Classes are held in our Education Building, unless otherwise noted, followed by a tour.

Jupiter Girard is the Livestock Manager at the Queens County Farm Museum, where she oversees animal care. She holds a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology from Miami University, with graduate research centered on improving care for exotic pets. With over seven years of experience working in animal husbandry, including previous work with sharks at the New York Aquarium, Jupiter is dedicated to caring for the animals, as well as expanding education surrounding livestock and heritage breeds at the farm.

If severe weather is forecasted, updates will be emailed to ticket holders, posted at queensfarm.org and shared on social media. Outdoor programming will move indoors where possible for inclement weather.

Queens Farm is smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.
Do not pick produce, or flowers, walk into growing fields or climb trees.
For the health of our livestock, please do not feed animals anything except food for sale on site.
Pets are not allowed, for the safety of the farm animals and visitors. Service animals are permitted as described by the ADA.
Queens Farm is home to a variety of livestock including hens, steer, alpacas, sheep, goats and pigs, who live in designated coops and paddocks on the farm. Guests are required to remain outside of fenced areas at all times during their visit.
Our 47 acres of grounds contain wooded areas, which are home to local wildlife. Do not feed or approach any animals you may encounter in their natural habitat.
Strollers, backpacks, and bottled water are permitted on the grounds. No designated storage for strollers, bags, or coats.
For the safety of our staff and visitors, there is no bicycling, rollerblading or electric scootering is allowed on-site. Bicycle racks are available on-site.
Casual visitor photography is permitted, however staged photos, photo shoots and commercial photography requires a farm issued permit and payment of applicable fees.
