🌽🎉 Meet the Three Sisters: corn, beans, and squash—a legendary trio that’s been grown together for generations by Indigenous peoples of eastern North America. These amazing plants don’t just share space—they help each other grow, just like a loving family!

According to Iroquois legend, the Three Sisters are inseparable. When planted together, they create a super team that keeps the soil healthy and the harvest strong—a perfect example of nature’s teamwork!

Bring the whole family for a day full of fun, learning, and creativity! You’ll:

🎨 Create colorful mosaics using corn kernels, pumpkin seeds, and beans
🌽 Visit our very own Three Sisters garden and see the stunning blue and purple glass gem corn up close!

It’s a hands-on, taste-filled celebration of tradition, nature, and community—perfect for families of all ages!

FAST FAQs:

  • Advance online tickets are required as capacity is limited. Email confirmation will automatically be sent to you upon completion of purchase.
  • This class is part of the Public Education Program at Queens Farm and is intended for ages 4 and up. 
  • We recommend guests bring water and sun protection, and wear comfortable boots or sneakers.
  • Guests should arrive and meet in the Pavilion. The workshop begins promptly at 11am. The Pavilion is located on the north side of the main path, past the Barn. 
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Farm members are eligible for 15% off this program. Select “I have a membership” during checkout to apply discount.
  • Free parking available in our lot (2nd gate along Little Neck Parkway). Local street parking and bicycle racks also available.
  • Farm grounds and restrooms are accessible.
  • Backpacks and bottled water are permitted on our grounds. No designated storage or bag check available.

All sales are final. Tickets cannot be replaced or transferred. If event is canceled by Queens Farm for any reason, Queens Farm will administer full refunds. This event is rain or shine as long as conditions remain safe for guests. If severe weather is forecasted, updates will be emailed to ticket holders, posted at queensfarm.org and shared on social media. Outdoor programming will move indoors where possible for inclement weather.

Purchase Protection is available for an additional cost; this service provides ticket holders with a full refund in case they are not able to attend the event due to unforeseen circumstances.
By entering an event or program at Queens County Farm Museum, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.

You understand that all photography, filming and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please do not enter the event premises.
• Queens Farm is smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.
• Do not pick produce, or flowers, walk into growing fields or climb trees.
• For the health of our livestock, please do not feed animals anything except food for sale on site.
• Pets are not allowed, for the safety of the farm animals and visitors. Service animals are permitted as described by the ADA.
• Queens Farm is home to a variety of livestock including hens, steer, alpacas, sheep, goats and pigs, who live in designated coops and paddocks on the farm. Guests are required to remain outside of fenced areas at all times during their visit.
• Our 47 acres of grounds contain wooded areas, which are home to local wildlife. Do not feed or approach any animals you may encounter in their natural habitat.
• Strollers, backpacks, and bottled water are permitted on the grounds. No designated storage for strollers, bags, or coats.
• For the safety of our staff and visitors, there is no bicycling, rollerblading or electric scootering is allowed on-site. Bicycle racks are available on-site.
• Casual visitor photography is permitted, however staged photos, photo shoots and commercial photography requires a farm issued permit and payment of applicable fees.
