Event Details

Learn the fascinating origin history behind the Sudoku puzzle and how it supports brain health, get guided instruction on how to play, and pick up some handy tips and tricks for solving. This is a beginner's level program. All guests will receive Sudoku booklets to take home.

While this program is designed with Girl Scouts in mind, it is also open for general admission to join. Guests are not required to be Girl Scouts to attend this program and learn to play.

Instructor and Education Director Laura Graney is a current Girl Scout Leader and a service team member for Girl Scouts of Garden City, and a huge Sudoku enthusiast.

  • Advance online tickets are required as capacity is limited. Email confirmation will automatically be sent to you upon completion of purchase.
  • This class is part of the Public Education Program at Queens Farm and is open to all ages. Girl Scouts and the general public are welcome to attend.
  • Guests should arrive around 9:45am; the workshop begins promptly at 10am. Proceed down the main path to meet at the Barn.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Farm members are eligible for 15% off this program. Select “I have a membership” during checkout to apply discount.
  • Free parking available in our lot (2nd gate along Little Neck Parkway). Local street parking and bicycle racks also available.
  • Farm grounds and restrooms are accessible.
  • Backpacks and bottled water are permitted on our grounds. No designated storage or bag check available.
  • This program takes place indoors and will not be affected by rain.

• Queens Farm is smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.
• Do not pick produce, or flowers, walk into growing fields or climb trees.
• For the health of our livestock, please do not feed animals anything except food for sale on site.
• Pets are not allowed, for the safety of the farm animals and visitors. Service animals are permitted as described by the ADA.
• Queens Farm is home to a variety of livestock including hens, steer, alpacas, sheep, goats and pigs, who live in designated coops and paddocks on the farm. Guests are required to remain outside of fenced areas at all times during their visit.
• Our 47 acres of grounds contain wooded areas, which are home to local wildlife. Do not feed or approach any animals you may encounter in their natural habitat.
• Strollers, backpacks, and bottled water are permitted on the grounds. No designated storage for strollers, bags, or coats.
• For the safety of our staff and visitors, there is no bicycling, rollerblading or electric scootering is allowed on-site. Bicycle racks are available on-site.
• Casual visitor photography is permitted, however staged photos, photo shoots and commercial photography requires a farm issued permit and payment of applicable fees.
